Raising the sustainability level of our new homes in Rosemarkie

With around 13% of Scotland’s carbon emissions related to the way we heat our homes, Government advances towards a Net Zero drive under the Future Homes Standard will see gas boilers being mandatorily phased out by 2025.
Pat Munro Homes are already taking initiative steps and future proofing our homes in advance of the Regulatory change for the benefit of all our customers now.
With the introduction of Air Source Heating Pumps at our latest development of new homes at Rosemarkie, we have raised the sustainability level of our homes from ‘Bronze Active’ to ‘Silver Level’ under the Scottish Technical Standards. This coupled with a combination of other Low Zero Carbon Generating Technology (LZCGT) such as the Photovoltaic Panels (PV’s) on certain developments, naturally raises our sustainability level higher to ‘Silver Active’.
Air Source Heat Pumps extract heat from the outside air, which is then used to warm the home and provide hot water requirements. By harnessing naturally renewable resources, air sourced heat pumps save money on fuel bills and reduce the carbon footprint of our properties, negating the need for mains gas installation.
The Mitsubishi models installed at our Rosemarkie development are the A+++ (triple rated) high efficiency, ultra-quiet, Ecodan R32’s delivering a vastly reduced Carbon return against each property creating super energy efficient homes with ultra-low running costs. The units are run by electricity, but because they are extracting renewable heat, the heat output is greater than the electricity input on an average ratio of 3 to 1.
